Our Colorful Pathways Approach
Colorful Pathways is a comprehensive creative placemaking program designed to leverage the power of sidewalk-level ―“pathway” level ― public art to address the interconnected challenges of public, environmental, and economic health in communities nationwide.
We do this by guiding communities through the process ― “pathway” — of building local capacity for creative placemaking activities.
Our Colorful Pathways program employs a three-phase approach: Discover, Create, and Sustain.
PHASE 1
Discover
In this initial phase, we work closely with community stakeholders to uncover local assets, challenges, and aspirations, culminating in a tailored Placemaking Action Plan.
PHASE 2
Create
During this phase, we deliver and implement the action plan, leading initial projects while gradually transferring skills and responsibilities to local leaders and creative workers.
PHASE 3
Sustain
Through this final phase, we provide the community with tools, templates, systems, and processes for ensuring long-term impact― securing sustainable funding and maintaining strong partnerships while positioning the local placemakers as mentors for other communities embarking on their placemaking pathways.
