Project Storm Drain is an opportunity to bring the arts & activism together to raise awareness of the need for healthy waterways in our community.

In partnership with the Lower Grand River Organization of Watersheds (LGROW) Adopt-A-Drain Program, this project combines the pledging force of a community with the creative power of an artist. Storm drains are kept clean while being highlighted through art, created by a local artist, to raise awareness of the small parts of the infrastructure that make a big difference to the health of our community. This program aims to utilize the arts to address issues of water quality in neighborhoods, stormwater management, and environmental protection.

Lions & Rabbits Center for the Arts facilitates the hiring, project management, and supply logistics with local artists to continue adding art to storm drains across the city of Grand Rapids, MI. We’re thrilled to be able to partner with LGROW and promote clean & safe environments for our community.
